The CoinDesk market index, which tracks 134 digital assets, declined 3.6 per cent in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 was down 0.5 per cent, while the Dow Jones rose 0.6 per cent and the S&P 500 was up 0.1 per cent.
Bitcoin, the best-known cryptocurrency, fell 3.2 per cent to $57,905, with a trading volume of $33.6 billion in 24 hours, up 126 per cent, according to CoinMarketCap. Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-biggest digital asset, was down 3.8 per cent at $2,284. BNB (BNB-USD), the third largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, fell 4.2 per cent, while Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth largest, declined 1.9 per cent.
XRP (XRP-USD) rose 0.5%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) declined 3.7% and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) fell 5.7%.
The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond closed at 3.621%, down from 3.648% on Friday, while the five-year yield closed at 3.404%, down from 3.423%.
The total value of the cryptocurrency market declined 3.2 per cent in the past 24 hours to $2.02 trillion. Trading volume increased by nearly 90 per cent to $72.26 billion.
